Tentacles IoT builds wireless soil and substrate moisture sensors for growers, landscapers, nursery operators and irrigation specialists. One sensor, multiple VWC zones, up to 15 years of battery life — data that lands directly in your dashboard or platform of choice.
A soil moisture sensor measures the volumetric water content (VWC) in the root zone — the percentage of soil or substrate that actually holds water. Instead of watering on instinct or a fixed schedule, the sensor gives you real-time data on when plants truly need water.
Our sensors work on capacitive measurement principles: they detect changes in the dielectric constant of the medium and convert those into accurate moisture percentages. No moving parts, no per-season calibration, and no external gateway — the sensor communicates directly via Sigfox 0G or LoRaWAN (Helium, Netmore).
