Three Zones, One Sensor

The 3XT-M divides its probe length into three evenly spaced zones and reports a Volumetric Water Content (VWC) reading per zone — top, middle and bottom — in real time. Pair those three readings and the sensor also tells you how water moves through the substrate: capillary action and suction force become visible, so you can read the medium, not just the surface.

VWC · Top

How wet the upper substrate is — the zone that dries first on a sunny day and signals when top irrigation may be needed.

VWC · Middle

The buffer zone between top and bottom. Tracks the speed at which water moves downward and the medium releases it.

VWC · Bottom

Reservoir drainage. A saturated bottom means over-irrigation; a dry bottom means the root zone is missing water.

Substrate Temperature

−20 to +65 °C ±2 %, measured right where the roots are. Critical for predicting growth rate and disease pressure.

Ambient Light

0 to 150 000 lux ±5 %. Daily light integral becomes traceable per sensor position, not just per greenhouse.

Self-Learning Calibration

VWC is calculated from preset calibration values refined by a self-learning algorithm that folds in live min/max readings.
